– We were on our way to the delivery and there was biathlon on in the car. Mona shoots and it is a hit, then the roommate says that Mona is a nice name. Then when the daughter is born, there is no doubt about the name. It became a Mona. It was our perfect match, mother Simone tells P4 Värmand.

Last week, little Mona turned one year old and Brorsson is very touched after receiving the ultimate tribute.
– Nah, but it’s absolutely incredible and what an honor! I feel very proud of this and hope that Mona will follow her dreams, just like I have done, she says to the radio channel.

When baby Mona turned one, biathlete Mona also got the chance to talk to her for the first time.
– Incredible. I even got to talk to her, they (P4) called up little Mona and her mother so I got to say happy birthday. But it really was a shock. When you think: “Here I am out in the world skiing and shooting, it doesn’t mean much”, but that people have really got involved and been impressed by it. Incredibly large. I am extremely honoured, says Mona Brorsson to Expressen.
