“It’s a big investment”

Sebastian Samuelsson does not stick to his bet.
Now he reveals the big purchase – for several millions.
– It is clear that it is a big investment, says the star to Expressen.

Life is playing for Sebastian Samuelsson. The biathlon star became a father two months ago and is at the peak of his career. But in the last season, he and the other Swedes more often than not had to see themselves defeated by a whole series of Norwegians.

“It’s Sweden’s best”

Norway has the world’s best national biathlon team, at least if you look at all the individual results during the past season. When it was time for the relay during the WC in Nove Mesto in February, it was a sensational gold for Sweden, where Sebastian Samuelsson became a great hero when Norway shot away in the last shot. And now Samuelsson will continue to build on that, and hopefully have more Norwegians behind him also in individual competitions next season.

Sebastian Samuelsson has had a new garage of 130 square meters built on the plot where he lives, where there is room for two cars, storage, but above all a brand new super gym. The gym alone is 70 square meters in size and there is everything he needs to maximize his training.

– For skiing, it is Sweden’s best gym, definitely. If you want to be a whole national team at the same time, it might be a bit crowded, but I have everything I need, he tells Expressen.

Have paid millions

Sebastian Samuelsson surprised many when, a few years ago, he paid several million for a large conveyor belt, on which you can roller-ski. In the past, he rented a room, but now it will also have a place in the new gym.

– I can go straight out of bed and train. Everything becomes much more efficient. I already know that the conveyor belt is a huge competitive advantage. I really want to invest in myself and biathlon, so I’m trying to do what I can to get myself the right conditions, he says.

But it hasn’t been free. Samuelsson says that the investment cost him several million kroner.

– The garage itself is close to two million and the conveyor belt is also nearby. Then there’s all the gym stuff. Obviously it’s a big investment that I’m making, but it’s so much easier now.
