Chatham-Kent police are seeking the public’s help as it investigates the theft of items from a storage unit worth several thousand dollars.

Police said the storage unit on Richmond Street in Chatham was entered sometime since September and work continues with the owners to determine exactly what was stolen from the unit.

Outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent police caught up to two men Friday wanted on outstanding warrants.

A 41-year-old Newbury man was pulled over after an officer saw a motor vehicle speeding on Kent Bridge Road in the afternoon.

Police said it was learned the driver had an outstanding warrant for flight from a peace officer and dangerous operation of a vehicle.

The accused was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing, police said.

A 37-year-old Chatham man was located on St. Patrick Street in Chatham after police responded to a report of a suspicious person in the evening.

Police learned he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was bound by a curfew condition.

The accused was arrested on the warrant and charged with two counts of breach of probation and released with a future court date, police said.
