During the second semi-final of Eurovision, the Italian TV channel RAI showed the voting figures in the live broadcast. The figures showed that Israel should have received close to 40 percent of the votes, the Netherlands came in second place with just over seven percent.
Now Italy’s RAI has published a statement that the figures were “incomplete” and published due to a “technical error”.
“According to the rules of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, such results may only be made public after the final night. Rai has apologized to the EBU management and believes that this error does not affect the validity of the final result”, writes the television channel in a statement.
Before the semi-finals, the Israeli contribution was in eighth place with the betting companies. But after yesterday, Israel now has the lowest odds to win the entire competition with, among others, Betsson.
