The qualifying phase for the FIFA World Cup in European countries began on Thursday night.

The qualifiers for the World Cup started on Thursday night with four matches for European countries. The winners of the matches advanced to the final stage of the qualifiers, from where the winners of the match pairs will redeem their World Cup place.
