(Finance) – Italy will participate in the 15th session of the Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena), which will be held on January 12, 2025 in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. Representing the country will be the deputy minister of the environment and energy security, Vannia Gava. “The central theme of the summit will be ‘Accelerating the transition to renewable energy – The way forward (Energy security, socio-economic development and financing options)’: an opportunity to evaluate progress made in the global energy transition and to discuss policies and the innovative technologies necessary to support and promote the diffusion of renewable energy.
Discussions will also focus on strengthening international cooperation and exploring financing mechanisms for sustainable energy projects.” The Assembly, which brings together world leaders, ministers and decision-makers from around the world, will also be a time to outline a strategy common for the future. Italy, “through the participation of Deputy Minister Vannia Gava, reiterates its commitment to a fair and sustainable energy transitionunderlining the value of international cooperation to address global energy and climate challenges.”
