The American company Heinz is perhaps best known in Sweden for its ketchup, but the logo can be seen on various cans of beans in tomato sauce and soups on store shelves.
The company’s products span the entire world and recently they launched a new product that made many frown.

Heinz’s new product receives criticism: “…like cat food?”
It’s carbonara in a can. The product is the first canned pasta dish Heinz has released in over a decade, but it hasn’t made one particular group very happy: Italians.

In an interview with the BBC, the Italian chef and Michelin-awarded restaurant owner demonstrates Alessandro Pipero shock when he hears about Heinz’s news.
“You mean in a can, like cat food?”, he says in the channel, according to The Guardian, and continues:
“I don’t really know how to answer this, shouldn’t we stick to putting things like Coca-Cola in a can?”.
There are several who share his opinion, according to the newspaper.

Heinz responds to the criticism
However, Heinz has no plans to withdraw the new product.
– Whether enjoyed as a comforting meal after a long day or shared with friends while watching the latest TV series, ‘Heinz Spaghetti Carbonara’ is the perfect no-fuss dinner solution, says Alessandra de Deuillemeal manager at Kraft Heinz, to the newspaper.
In fact, Heinz has previously released the spaghetti bolognese meal in a can.
