The Italian prime minister will meet both the outgoing and the incoming US president within a week.
Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni met the new president Donald Trump’s on Saturday as one of the first international guests.
The president’s club has previously been visited by the president of Argentina Javier MileiPrime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau and the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán.
The new host of the White House described his guest as a “fantastic woman”.
– The Prime Minister of Italy has taken Europe and every storm by storm. We are having dinner tonight, the future president said.
The event was attended by, among others, Trump’s candidate for foreign minister Marco Rubioa nominee for national security adviser Mike Waltz and candidate for Minister of Finance Scott Bessent.
Outgoing President of the United States Joe Biden meets the Italian Prime Minister in Rome on his farewell trip to Europe. Biden is also scheduled to meet the Pope on Thursday Francis.
