Italferr wins two tenders for the Turin Lyon yards

(Finance) – Italferran engineering company of the FS Italiane Group, was awarded two races called by TELT for two important shipyards on the Italian side of the Turin-Lyon, the HS / HC cross-border railway line for goods and passengers under construction. In detail, the ISP grouping, led by Italferr and also formed by Systra France and Pini Group, was awarded the two tenders relating to Works Management and High Surveillance for the works of the Mont Cenis base tunnel: the C01-Tunnel Operative Sites of Bussoleno interconnection and the C02 Operative Site – Open Air Works in the Susa Plain.

As the FS News portal explains, the CO1 Operating Site concerns the construction of a 3.6 km interconnection section which, through the Bussoleno Tunnels (2 km), connects the new Turin-Lyon line to the historic RFI line, while the CO2 Operating Yard on the other hand, it concerns the construction of a 2.5 km section which, crossing the Piana di Susa, connects the Interconnection Tunnels to the Italian side entrance of the Base Tunnel.

The planned works also include the crossing of the river Dora by means of metal structure bridges, the crossing of existing underground services and roads, the construction of the technical area serving the line and an option relating to the construction of the new Susa International Station.

The works for the Turin-Lyon, strategic work located in the heart of the Mediterranean corridor from the trans-European TEN-T network and that it will contribute to decisively favor the development of the transport of goods by rail, they continue. The engineering company of the FS Italiane Group has in fact already been involved for some time in the design of the work. In addition to the two tenders just awarded, Italferr is also involved in the construction management activities for the Base Tunnel on the Italian and French sides.
