He predicted that a new version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor will be coming soon. However, its name was said to be Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+, not Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Qualcomm, on the other hand, made a surprise by officially introducing the renewed version of its flagship chipset.
HERE ARE THE FEATURES OF SNAPDRAGON 8+ GEN 1
The new version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset was introduced as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 (SM8475). It has been learned that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which comes out of TSMC’s 4 nm manufacturing process, promises modest speed improvements and significant power savings.
It was stated that while Qualcomm emphasized 10% higher CPU and GPU performance and 30% CPU power efficiency, the clock speed of the Cortex-X2 core has now reached 3.2GHz. It was reported that the overall power efficiency increased by 15%.
It has been noted that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 allows almost an hour of gaming longer, allows 80 minutes more online video viewing, and offers 5.5 hours more talk time.
On the other hand, Qualcomm also announced a new mid-range processor called Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. It also unveiled its new reference AR glasses, powered by the Snapdragon XR2 processor.
WHEN WILL THE FIRST DEVICES BE AVAILABLE?
Qualcomm said the first Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 devices will be available from July to September. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun shared that the next flagship smartphone from Xiaomi will be among the first devices to use the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
