Living and staying in Sweden has become significantly more expensive in recent years and it will get worse. In 2024, the annual cost is expected to increase further, and some of the people who risk being hit hard are families with children, says Länsförsäkringar’s private economist Stefan Westerberg.
Over the past two years, the average annual cost for a family of two adults and two children has increased by SEK 110,000, to SEK 460,000. When the private economist visited TV4 he told which expenses are expected to rise further in the coming year.
– It’s a lot about interest, electricity bills, clothes, shoes and food. It is a huge item for families with children in particular, he said at the time.

The counties where costs are expected to increase the least are mainly three counties in the northern parts of the country.
– These are very large costs, of course. It will basically eat up the extra we will get in the wallet next year. The costs will unfortunately lead to us not having increased purchasing power next year, says Westerberg to TV4.
