Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris (35) recently shared his income from 2023 on Twitch. He also revealed how much revenue his YouTube channels generate – and why half is no longer enough for him.
How much does MontanaBlack make? The 35-year-old recently revealed his 2023 earnings in a stream. He also showed how much money his YouTube channels have raised over the years.
However, since he does not operate his highlight channels himself, a portion of the revenue goes to the operators. That used to be 50%, but MontanaBlack explains why he no longer wanted to give half of the money.
MontanaBlack has 4 YouTube channels, but 2 are not his own
What’s with the channels? MontanaBlack, like many larger content creators, has more than just one YouTube channel. On his original main channel “MontanaBlack”, where he posted his very first video 10 years ago, no videos appeared at all. Instead, he shifted his content to the secondary channel “SpontanaBlack”.
However, in 2023, MontanaBlack revived the original channel with one of its oldest formats.
In addition to these channels, it is primarily “DieCrew” and “Right Kevin” on which videos from MontanaBlack are published. However, the streamer himself is not behind the channels. The content of the channels is edited by the operators from streams from MontanaBlack and published in the form of highlights or best-ofs.
MontanaBlack is “incredibly grateful” to channel operators and is reducing their share
That’s why there is less money: As MontanaBlack reveals, he used to share the income equally with the channel operators. So both the streamer and the operator received 50%. This agreement probably came from a time when YouTube wasn’t the source of income it is today – both channels were created in 2016.
At some point the income would have reached such dimensions that MontanaBlack was no longer willing to give up half of it. According to the streamer, he also had to think as a businessman. After all, he could claim the channels as his own and pay someone a fixed monthly salary of 3,000 to 4,000 euros to edit the stream excerpts.
MontanaBlack says that he would never disembark the channel operators in such a way, but he has nevertheless “convinced” them that they are replaceable.
The 35-year-old reveals that his decision wasn’t received too well at first, but he promised “the boys” that he would never ask for an even larger share. He emphasizes that he is “incredibly grateful” to the two of them and will “always love them”.
MontanaBlack did not reveal how large the share is that “Crew” and “Kevin” now have left. However, it is enough that the channel operators can hire someone to edit the videos for them and still enjoy a passive income, according to the streamer.
