The Marksman revolves around farmer and Vietnam veteran Jim Hanson (Neeson), who lives near the US-Mexico border Experience massacres of illegal immigrants. From then on he tries to protect young Miguel (Jacob Perez) from the brutal henchmen of a drug cartel.

The Marksman flopped at the box office (via The Numbers) and received mediocre reviews on Metacritic. Many critics enjoyed Neeson’s proven action qualities, but found the story to be extremely predictable.
The Marksman was not even released in cinemas in Germany in 2021. Several months after its US theatrical run, it was released on DVD and Blu-ray in Germany in August 2021. In the director’s chair was Robert Lorenz (American Sniper), who produced many of Clint Eastwood’s films.
