It was the subject of the show! Drug lord Hector Palma Salazar to be released

It was the subject of the show Drug lord Hector

In Mexico, Court of Appeals Judge Maria Dolores Olarte has ordered the release of drug lord Hector Palma Salazar, nicknamed “Güero”, who has been imprisoned for 28 years and led the Sinaloa Cartel together with El Chapo in the 80s and 90s. Convinced that the allegations made by prosecutors about his involvement in organized crime are unfounded, ineffective and unsupportable, Olarte ordered the immediate end of the detention of 63-year-old Salazar.

Salazar’s lawyer, Jose Gabriel Hernandez, said in a statement that his client could be released from prison in the next few hours as there are currently no other arrests against him, while pointing out that prosecutors used false statements about dead people in the allegations.

Released by a court order in May 2021, Salazar was re-captured and imprisoned two months later, to be kept in custody until two missing witnesses who testified about his involvement in organized crime were found.

Salazar, who was a drug smuggler in Mexico in the 80s and 90s, was arrested by Mexican security forces after his plane crashed in 1995. Salazar was later extradited to the United States by Mexican authorities in 2007, and was sent back in 2016 to be handed over to Mexican judicial authorities.

IT WAS THE SUBJECT OF THE WORLD-FAMOUS TV Series

The crime story of Salazar, nicknamed Güero, which means light-skinned in Spanish, was the subject of the world-famous TV series “Narcos: Mexico”. (UAV)
