51-year-old welder Robert Glynn went to the doctor for shoulder pain in 2020. After tests at the hospital, Glynn was diagnosed with a deadly form of cancer in the bile duct in her liver that had spread to her adrenal gland. Glynn, who learned that she had been living with cancer for two years without knowing it, was discovered by chance after her gallbladder got infected.
ATTENDED MEDICATION TRIALS AS A LAST CHANCE
Glynn, moreover, found that he was in the advanced stages of the disease. Doctors announced that Glynn would not live long after the diagnosis of the disease. Receiving this news, Glynn took a last chance at a trial of an experimental immunotherapy drug administered at a cancer treatment center in Manchester, England.
COMPLETELY RECOVERED FROM CANCER
Thanks to the drug experiment, the tumor in his liver was reduced from 12 cm to 2.6 cm, together with traditional chemotherapy methods. Another tumor in his adrenal glands shrunk from 7 cm to 4.1 cm. Thanks to this, Glynn was able to have surgery in April. Glynn learned that she was completely cured of this disease after the three-month scans were completed after the cancer treatment process and surgery.
“I JUMPED AT THIS CHANCE”
Mr. Glynn said, “When I was given the option to participate in the study, I jumped at that chance. You are doing everything you can to prolong your life. I feel very lucky to have had cancer for two years and have no clue.” According to the Daily Mail, although the experimental nature of cancer drug treatment means it cannot be named at this stage, Mr. Glynn found it “overwhelming” to make things clear. “Oddly enough, having a diagnosis changed my life. My partner Simone and I go out into nature and walk a lot. When that happens, you realize that life is for living.” said.
CHANGED HIS NUTRITION
When cancer has spread, as in Mr. Glynn’s case, the goal of surgery is to improve symptoms, not cure the cancer. Chemotherapy is medicine used to kill cancer cells and stop the cancer from coming back. Mr Glynn also removed “all processed foods, refined sugar, milk and dairy products” from his diet. Mr Glynn said he now eats “a smoothie every day and lots of organic fruits and vegetables”. Mr. Glynn said, “I realized that you can’t just rely on doctors to help you. You have to help yourself too.”
