WhatsApp continues to introduce new features to users. Expressing that it always attaches importance to privacy, the platform has added new privacy features over the years, such as self-destructing timed messages, end-to-end encrypted backups, 2-step verification, and the ability to block and report unwanted chats. WhatsApp has now announced new privacy features.
3 FEATURES FROM WHATSAPP! KEY POINT PRIVACY
WhatsApp’s 3 features are silently leaving groups, choosing who can see you when you’re online, and blocking screenshots for once viewed messages.
Quietly leaving groups: It will allow you to sneak out of a group without anyone noticing. Now only admins will be notified when leaving, instead of the entire group. This feature will begin rolling out to all users this month.
Choose who can see you when you’re online: As the name suggests, it will allow you to choose who can and cannot see you when you are online. This feature will begin rolling out to all users this month.
Prevent screenshots for once viewed messages: It will prevent taking screenshots in the “View Once” feature, which is used to share photos or media that do not need a permanent digital recording. WhatsApp noted that it is currently testing this feature and will soon offer it to users.
