CAUSES OF EARLY ejaculation

The review, from Anglia Ruskin University in the UK, studied men suffering from premature ejaculation during sex. According to the review, premature ejaculation has been associated with some harmful health conditions, including psychological distress, poor self-esteem, anxiety, decreased libido, and poor interpersonal relationships.

THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN EXAMINED IN THE RESEARCH

“Strategies to help men last longer in the bedroom can help improve their relationships and self-esteem with their partners,” said Lee Smith, professor of public health at Anglia Ruskin University and senior author of the review. The researchers analyzed 54 studies involving 3,485 men, one of which included men aged 18 to 45. The active men group averaged 39 seconds to over 30 minutes during sex, compared with the inactive men who took just 50 seconds at the end of the study.

In another study the authors reviewed, 26 men practiced yoga for 12 weeks, and their time spent during sex more than tripled—from an average of 26 seconds to almost a minute and a half. The research also suggested that pelvic floor exercises could help men last longer in bed, but it was difficult for them to assess the effect of these exercises from electrical stimulation, which was also used in the same studies.

THE PAUSE-COMPLETE TECHNIQUE WORKED ALSO

A study of 31 men showed positive findings for a technique called “pause-squeeze”—where men pause during sex and squeeze the head of their penis to stop ejaculation before they wanted to—which allowed men to last an average amount of time.

“WE NEED MORE RESEARCH IN THIS AREA”

Overall, the authors concluded that physical activity could be a potential therapy to help improve men’s sexual performance.
“This evidence is based on studies involving small numbers of men and we need more research in this area, but approaches like physical activity can help all men,” Smith said. “This isn’t just for men diagnosed with premature ejaculation.”

LIFE HABITS CAN BE CHANGED FOR BETTER BED PERFORMANCE

“Most men may not have performed as well as they would like at some point and may benefit from lifestyle changes and techniques to help them last longer.” The review also found that a ginseng berry extract may improve performance, but the evidence was weak and more research is needed to confirm the findings.
