Based on the novel The Cloud Atlas * by David Mitchell, Tom Tykwer and the Wachowskis filmed a sci-fi opus of enormous proportions in 2012. Cloud Atlas – Everything is connected explores the actions of several people over six centuries, which showed their effects in a wide variety of time periods.   • 20144 in Neo Seoul The humanoid clone Sonmi-451 (Doona Bae) strives for freedom.
  • 2321 on the Big Island (aka post-apocalyptic Hawaii) Zachry (Tom Hanks) reflects on the evolution of society as it headed toward revolution.
  • The directing trio adapted the novel, which is considered unfilmable, as an ambitious science fiction project for the big screen and wove characters, places and time levels with musical, emotional and color arcs. The result is a film that has to be experienced.
