In Pokémon GO, every player can focus on what they enjoy most. A player has now completed a Pokédex of a slightly different kind.
What is it about? On Reddit, a player reports that he has spent the last 5 years in the game trying to complete a very special Pokédex. He didn’t focus on rare, strong or shiny Pokémon like other players who focus on collecting – but on 420 different Pokémon with exactly 420 WP.
He calls this Pokédex “TheFortWentyDex”. All 420 different Pokémon that he has immortalized in this Pokédex also received their own nickname from him.
In addition to the actual collection, he has also collected 120 duplicates with 420 WP over time.
We are embedding the post about it here for you:
Community is excited
What does the community say about this? The feedback on this special Pokédex has been very positive. In addition to a series of, how could it be otherwise, “nice” comments, the creativity in naming is also highlighted. The coach is also praised for his perseverance.
What does the coach say about that? After the trainer has been working on this collection for the last 5 years, this project has now been successfully completed for him. But there were also stumbling blocks, such as a sudden change in the WP by Niantic: That was in 2018, when I only had 6 420 Pokémon. Let’s hope they never rebalance again.
In this collection he was only interested in the WP values. When asked how the IV values of the Pokémon are determined, he answers that he doesn’t even know them.
How did the trainer go about collecting? He has leveled most of the Pokémon in this collection to exactly 420 WP. He also used the PokéGenie app to specifically search for the evolved Pokémon. You can find out how PokéGenie works here. The trainer also explains that he had a self-imposed rule that he had to catch every 420 Pokémon in the wild – even if he already had it.
What is the coach’s next goal? He himself states that he doesn’t yet know what to do with himself. Of course the community has suitable suggestions for him.
One of the suggestions is that he could tackle the same project with the numbers 69 and 666 next. The trainer comments that he has already collected a few copies of this. However, the space required for this in the Pokémon storage box would probably be a bigger problem for him.
Do you have such ventures in Pokémon GO yourself? What particular collections are you working on? Maybe the Pokémon GO events in December will help you with your personal collections.
