What is gambling on Twitch all about? Gambling is one of the biggest excitements on Twitch along with “Hot Tub” streams. In 2022, the “Slots” category, which primarily featured virtual slot machines, was the 12th most viewed game on Twitch (via sullygnome).
Major gambling streamers are said to have made great money from deals with controversial online casino Stake while their viewers went bankrupt. Proponents saw things differently, including a viewer of HasanAbi. Months later, he ruefully returns to the streamer’s chat.
MontanaBlack, one of the most successful German streamers, was also huge with gambling on Twitch for a while.
Viewer says, “You were right” and apologizes
What kind of viewer was that? A Twitch user named “Ryiize” appeared in HasanAbi’s chat as a supporter of gambling on the streaming platform. On July 7, 2021, he defended a gambling streamer and shared his own winnings:
You’re idiots. […] You’re sitting here beating up a guy who took a deal. […] I’ve got thousands [vermutlich Dollar] cash out and I’m a normal guy, you’re all idiots.
How did the viewer change their mind? At the beginning of March, the viewer returned to the HasanAbi chat, but was now clear: gambling had destroyed his life, now he wanted to apologize.
I realize you probably won’t be reading this, but I was here a while back and said gambling on Twitch isn’t bad. A year later it has ruined my life and I have an addiction that requires professional help. Here’s my apologies to you. You were right.
How did the streamer react? HasanAbi refrained from gloating and showed sympathy for the viewer’s fate. He advocated that the viewer wants to take professional help and gave him a few words of comfort along the way:
In Turkey we have a saying […], which means: “No matter where you turn from a loss, there is a gain. You finally managed to turn the tide, that’s a good thing.

The gambling issue is also a controversial topic on German Twitch. The streamer “Real_Bazzi” said that he used to be addicted to gambling. He then built a career roleplaying in GTA 5, but that quickly collapsed when he started streaming gambling:
