Having a better estimate of the salinity of the layer of ice that covers Europa, Jupiter’s moon, should allow researchers to better interpret the data returned to them by the Europa Clipper mission (Nasa). Its launch is scheduled for 2024 and its radar intended to pierce the ice to explore the ocean that lies below. © NASA, JPL-Caltech
