Reflux disease is the displacement of gastric secretions consisting of acid, bile and mucus up to the esophagus or mouth. In reflux disease, a bitter taste in the mouth occurs. Symptoms such as chest pain, hoarseness, dry cough, painful swallowing or difficulty in swallowing can be seen in patients. Patients should pay attention to their diet to reduce the symptoms of reflux. prof. Dr. Neriman İnanç argued that reflux can be prevented by drinking 2 glasses of milk a day.
REDUCES REFLUX SYMPTOMS
prof. Dr. Neriman İnanç said, “In the results of the research, it was stated that the consumption of milk reduces the activity of the infection in the stomach and prevents the occurrence of the symptoms of the disease by regulating the gastric mucosa. “It was determined that the frequency of reflux symptoms decreased thanks to the beneficial microorganisms contained in dairy products. Considering the results of the research, it will be beneficial for people with reflux problems to drink milk, starting with small amounts first and then increasing the amount, to pass or decrease their reflux symptoms,” he said.
HEALING AFTER MILK CONSUMPTION IN PATIENTS
In a study published in the Journal of Food and Health in 2015, 37 patients aged 12-80 years and with regular gastrointestinal complaints consumed 1 tea glass (100 ml/day) of milk per day for 4 weeks. There was a significant improvement in the findings of the patients after milk consumption compared to the baseline. Milk also helps in reducing the signs of reflux because it contains protein and is a rich source of phosphorus. Faith also believes that people with reflux problems should reach their ideal body weight, and therefore, milk, which is one of the most important nutrients for weight loss, should be consumed for this purpose as well.
SUGGESTIONS TO GET GOOD FOR REFLUX

- Meals should be chewed well, consumed sparingly and frequently.
- It is necessary to take fluids half an hour before or after a meal, not with meals.
- It is very important to cut the last meal at least two hours before going to bed and not to sleep on a full stomach.
