It is this Wednesday at 7 p.m. French time that the Google I / O, the major annual conference for developers, will begin. Here’s how to follow it live online, to find out what’s next from the American giant.
If Apple traditionally organizes its famous keynote during the WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference, the developer conference) just before the summer (it will be June 6 this year), Google prefers the middle of spring to schedule its own event, the Google I/O. And so it is this Wednesday, May 11, from 19 that the American giant should present live from Shoreline (a city located in the state of Washington in the United States) the novelties to come for this year. The program should be busy since, in addition to an overview of the evolution of Android 13 currently in beta 1 version and which should be released next fall, we expect to discover the Pixel Watch, the connected watch of the builder. After the takeover of Fitbit last year and the partnership established with Samsung to merge WearOS and Tizen, the two OS for connected watches from the two manufacturers, the Pixel Watch should point the end of its dial if we are to believe the many leaks that have been circulating the web for several months.
It may also be the occasion to see a new smartphone appear: the Pixel 6a, a more affordable version of the Pixel 6 released in the fall of 2021.
We also talk about the possibility of announcing a version of the Pixel Buds, the brand’s wireless headphones, in Pro version, as well as a software update for Android TV, the system that powers a large number of connected televisions.
Finally, and above all, since developers are the first targets, Google I/O will undoubtedly also be an opportunity to preview new services and new technologies developed by Google, like I/ O Pinball, a small online game launched today as a demonstration (see our article). A fun way to glimpse the future…
