Stating that patients with complaints such as hypertension, obesity and stroke receive treatment at the center, Deputy Chief Physician Responsible for the Sleep Center Dr. Osman Koray Turhan made a statement about the center and mentioned the increase in the quality of life of patients receiving treatment at the sleep center.
Turhan; “When our patients come to us during a process with sleep disorders and imbalances, we detect diseases such as apnea syndrome, restless leg movements, chronic movements, narcolepsy, sleep terror with the device in our center. After giving our device treatment to the patients, we receive feedback that there are significant changes in the quality of life of our patients.”
Sleep Center Responsible Physician Neurology Specialist Dr. Taylan Yavuz Bulut stated that sleep apnea is a serious disease and paves the way for many diseases and answered the question of who should apply to the center.
“SLEEP DISORDERS PREPARE THE GROUND FOR OTHER DISEASES”
Noting that sleep apnea and sleep disorders, which are seen in 2 percent of women and 4 percent of men, are health problems that should be taken seriously, Dr. Taylan Yavuz Bulut said; “There are almost as many patients with sleep apnea as asthma and diabetes patients. The reason we consider sleep apnea as a serious disease is that it is one of the underlying causes of patients such as high blood pressure, arrhythmia and stroke, but this is not well known. If a person has snoring, nighttime breathing pauses, daytime sleepiness, falling asleep while sitting or driving, waking up tired in the morning and frequent urination at night, they should apply to our center.”
Stating that there are three stages of sleep apnea, that snoring and sleep apnea are associated with many very important diseases, Bulut said that the treatment of patients who are hosted in the sleep center for one night is decided according to the results obtained, and that some patients get positive results only by losing weight and quitting smoking and alcohol.
Stating that sleep apnea syndrome, which paves the way for diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, is a risk factor for diseases such as heart attack and stroke, Bulut stated that sleep apnea syndrome is a disease that must be treated. (İHA)
