Niklas Wikegård has said goodbye to the television box.
Now his TV4 colleagues give the ultimate tributes.
– It has been very appreciated by everyone who watched, says Lasse Granqvist in “Efter fem”.
As many times as Niklas Wikegård divided hockey Sweden with his strong opinions and surprising plays. He has really been one of our biggest television profiles in the country for two decades.

But after almost 20 years in the television box, the good Wikegård has now said goodbye. In connection with the last SC final in hockey, the outspoken television profile was dismissed in the TV4 broadcast.

It will be empty in the TV box without someone like Niklas Wikegård. But now a new adventure awaits in stark contrast to his job as an expert commentator, when he changes sides and takes over as sports director in Djurgården.
Jihde’s Tribute
This weekend, Wikegård was a guest on the TV4 program “Efter fem” and received great praise from his colleagues.

Then the previous pair horse gets Peter Jihde the word, who made many hockey broadcasts together with Wikegård on TV4.
– Niklas is the hardest softie I know, or the softest softie. He wants to appear quite tough, but he is not, says Jihde in the TV program.
– He is one of the warmest, kindest and nicest people there is, and that has been proven above all when we have gone by car together after our work when he has talked about his father Arne, which he looks more like with each passing day. He has also spoken a lot like his daughters whom he loves deeply and warmly. He is so much human and that is what made him such a good expert. He is the best.
Granqvist pays tribute
Also Lasse Granqvist eases his heart to give Wikegård the very warmest tribute.
– It is important to say that there is a chance for you, Niklas, to absorb everything that is said about you. Now that you’re ending at the top of your commentary career, because I think it’s cool, that you get to take in all the praise. Because they are sincerely meant and it must be a wonderful feeling to now take it with you to a real job, or whatever it is, says the TV4 profile in Efter fem.
– That you get to experience all the love that is directed towards you, it is well worth it.

Granqvist also describes what it was like to work together with Niklas Wikegård in connection with hockey broadcasts.
– You always have to be prepared with him. Because it can just go – BANG – and then it takes a completely different direction and then you as the presenter have to put everything back together. There are lots of such examples. But being alert and awake all the time – that’s Niklas’ way of spreading himself and it has been very appreciated by everyone who watched and followed him, says Lasse about the colleague.
– It’s a bit difficult to take in, I must say. I don’t think I’ve been any more special than anyone else. But it is clear that I will be happy and proud, says an emotional Wikegård about the warm words of the TV4 friends.
