Niklas Wikegård has got a new job.
Then he is praised by his colleague Lasse Granqvist.
– It has stuck with me most deeply, says Granqvist about Wikegård to Sportbladet.
Since 2011 is Niklas Wikegård expert in TV4, and Lasse Granqvist has belonged to the channel since 2012. The profiles have been colleagues for a long time, and collaborated to some extent during TV4’s, and previously C More’s, hockey broadcasts.
Wikegård’s new gig
During Tuesday, it was clear that Wikegård is returning to hockey, since he received a new role in Djurgården Hockey as sportingly responsible for the entire association. The 60-year-old thus returns to the club, after having been a coach in DIF 1995-1998, and again between 2002 and 2005.

Wikegård will therefore soon no longer be seen on the television screen
– We are very happy for Niklas, of course, even if it is sad for us. But in the short term there will be no change, but he will continue to work with the SHL with us during the spring, until he takes up his position in Djurgården from May 1, says TV4’s sports manager Erik Westberg to Sportbladet.
Granqvist’s tribute
The former hockey coach is now praised by colleague Lasse Granqvist after the announcement of the new assignment.
“Niklas has a passionate hockey heart and an impressive drive. He constantly wants to move forward, to do something new, to challenge. This applies to Wikegård in and around broadcasts and probably also in the role he will soon handle in Djurgården’s IF”, writes Granqvist in an SMS to the evening newspaper.

Wikegård will therefore work at TV4 until the end of the season, but will not work with Djurgården’s matches. The channel has not finalized a replacement, but a profile like Wikegård will be difficult to replace completely.
“During the years we worked together, Nikla’s empathetic and humanistic side has become the one that stuck most deeply with me. A very skilled expert chooses a different path and I wish Niklas the best of luck!”, writes Granqvist.
