When Cale Kubena decides to leave “Bachelor in Paradise”, Michelle Leandersson chooses to leave with him, and before they leave, Cale states that he is happy about Michelle’s decision.
– Now damn it’s dating, he says.
But it sounds different in the after-snack program “All reveals everything”. There, Cale explains that he wasn’t at all prepared for Michelle to break up with him and they both state that they didn’t give the relationship a chance well outside of the show.
– It went a little wrong, says Cale without elaborating further.
Cale about his reason for leaving
Now both Michelle and Cale give their take on what really happened between them, and Cale explains why he chose to leave the show in the first place.
– It was supposed to be about love, but I felt that they prioritized drama instead of those who actually had genuine feelings for each other. Me and Michelle, and the nice thing that arose between us already on day one, was not prioritized at all in the filming, says Cale.
– I told Michelle quite quickly that I wanted to leave, but she wanted to stay and because I wanted to be with her, I chose to stay, he continues.
But later, just before Cale decides to leave, a situation arises that is not shown at all in the show. Something that leads to an insecurity in Cale that he has not known before.
– It got a bit dramatic, me and Michelle ended up in a dispute. I was disappointed that it was not shown, it looks strange that it came out of nowhere, he says.
It happens in the days after they leave the house
After the program, Michelle and Cale stayed in Mexico for a week and socialized both by themselves and with other participants.
– Just in “Everyone reveals everything” I didn’t want to throw anyone under the bus, but I can’t say that he treated me very kindly, says Michelle.
– He had told me that he wanted to take me on several dates and I was determined that he would do it, but when we were to have our first real date it was a very bitter mood on his part and I don’t know why, continues she.
After that, Michelle felt that there was a less pleasant atmosphere between them, with several minor situations that caused friction.
– On day two, we had a conversation and I told him that I was unsure how I wanted to proceed, that I needed time to feel things out. I think Michelle was very disappointed, and of course I can understand that. We agreed that we would make the most of the time, unconditionally in Mexico, says Cale.
– I was disappointed then, but when I get things proven to me, I easily move on. I know what I need and look for in a man. It’s not always easy to see it in the house as not all of one’s sides come through, says Michelle.
No contact today
With hindsight, Michelle would probably have chosen to stay on the show and Cale believes they could have handled the situation differently.
– It’s difficult with emotions, to know what you want, it wasn’t completely clear when we left. The smartest thing we could have done is to be on separate sides for a while. To get some air, it had been intense weeks. That’s what went wrong, I think that would have been better for us, says Cale.
Neither Cale nor Michelle have anything bad to say about each other, even though today they have no contact.
– For me, it was done when we left Mexico, says Michelle.
