Reactions to Fast & Furious 9 have been mixed, but ticket sales have clearly failed: the world can’t get enough of Dominic Toretto’s explosive adventures, even after more than 20 years. Fast & Furious 10 is coming to theaters this year, starring Vin Diesel Aquaman star Jason Momoa gets to do.

Momoa plays the villain and as the first trailer shows, he has a very personal connection to Dom Toretto that harks back to the events of Fast & Furious Five. But see for yourself!

Jason Momoa’s villain is the son of the Fast 5 antagonist

Momoa’s character is called Dante and he’s out for revenge on Dom’s family. The reason: His father was Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), the villain from Fast & Furious Five. The director Louis Leterrier confirmed to us in an interview with Moviepilot. That’s why the trailer shows Tresor-Heist from the finale of the fifth part from a different perspective. From Dante’s point of view, Dom has ruined his family.

That’s why he now wants to destroy Dom’s family bit by bit, which is a bit reminiscent of the motivation of Jason Statham’s ex-villain Deckard Shaw, who was also once on a revenge trip against Dom because of his brother Owen (Luke Evans). Deckard, on the other hand, can be seen briefly in the trailer making plans with Han (Sung Kang). In addition, the trailer offers some highlights:
