“It can’t be waved away!”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Janne Andersson and Bojan Djordjic have made peace.
But the criticism against the national team captain is still pouring in.
– It is not possible to wave it away, says the presenter Gusten Dahlin.

The fight shook the whole of football Sweden and just about everyone had an opinion and something to say about what happened after Sweden’s 5-0 win against Azerbaijan. After the match, expert Bojan Djordjic had questions about Jesper Karlsson’s playing time.

“Can’t wave away”

The winger has dominated in the Netherlands this season, but got just eight minutes on the pitch in Sweden’s clash on Monday. And Janne Andersson liked the question at all. It ended with a heated exchange of words, which culminated in something Janne Andersson said could be interpreted as racist. Andersson said: “And who do you represent?”, to which Bojan Djordjic replied: “Sweden, of course.” Janne Andersson then said, in short:

– Oh damn.

Afterwards, Bojan Djordjic and Janne Andersson have met and reconciled – but the criticism against Janne Andersson is still pouring in. The presenter Gusten Dahlin, who is mainly seen in connection with C More’s Champions League broadcasts, is now criticizing how Janne Andersson handled the racism issue.

– It is ignorant and dangerous that, as in this case, as Janne does, you only start from your own perspective. That: “Fuck no, I didn’t mean anything racist.” No, I don’t think you did either, but apparently that’s how Bojan interpreted it. And if Bojan interprets it that way, then you have to start from that. Then you just can’t wave it away, that Bojan is interpreting wrong, he says in Fotbollsmorgon.

Great criticism

Gusten Dahlin once again states that he does not believe that Janne Andersson meant anything racist in what he said, but that it does not matter either.

– It becomes secondary what Janne means by herself. Again, I am completely convinced that what Janne meant by “and what do you represent then?” is a wall game question because Bojan had established that Janne represents 10 million Swedes. Then you have to understand that a lot more people than I wonder why Jesper Karlsson, red-hot as he is, doesn’t get to play more in these two games, he says.

Dahlin also believes that Janne Andersson’s role as national team captain includes answering just such questions.

– In the role of Swedish national team captain, you kind of get to answer that question, then you get to answer however you want, but you get to answer that question. But Janne has then read in that it is criticism after a 5-0 victory, so that his reaction is then: “And what do you represent?” So when Bojan then answers Sweden, I am completely convinced that Janne interprets it as: “Well, you mean that everyone thinks like you. Everyone is so critical. You certainly put on the Sweden hat here and mean that what you choose to focus on after 5-0 is certainly criticism and wondering why Jesper Karlsson is not allowed to play more, and that I have made a mistake.”
