(Telestock) – Industrial production rises again in Mayafter two months of cyclical declines: the seasonally adjusted monthly index of industrial production in fact records a 0.5% growth compared to AprilThis is what emerges from the latest Istat report.
On average for the period March-May there is still a drop in the production level equal to -1.6% compared to the previous three months, while the index net of calendar effects confirms a decline in trend terms equal to -3.3% (calendar working days were 22 as in May 2023).
The positive dynamic, on a monthly basisis extended to almost all sectors, with the exception of goods instrumental (-1.0%); on the contrary, increases are observed for the energy (+3.0%) and for the consumer goods and of intermediate goods (+0.7% for both sectors).
In general termsnet of calendar effects, decreases were recorded for the indices relating to the main industrial groupings – intermediate goods (-1.8%), consumer goods (-2.7%), capital goods (-6.4%) – with the exception ofpower (+2.5%).
Sectors of economic activity which record the trend increases the greater the manufacturing of electrical equipment (+4.8%), the manufacture of coke and petroleum products refined (+3.0%) and the supply of andelectricity, gas, value and air (+2.6%).
The push ups larger ones are recorded in the manufacturing of means of transport (-11.1%), in industries textiles, clothing, leather and accessories (-7.0%) and in the manufacturing of machinery and equipment (-5.7%).
