ISTAT construction production falling in July

(Finance) – After the growth observed in June, the seasonally adjusted construction production index recorded a cyclical decline in July, reaching the lowest levels since December 2021.

He notices it the ISTAT underlining that even in comparison with the previous year, the sector’s results remain negative, highlighting, in July, net of calendar effects, the sixth consecutive trend decline.

In July the Institute of Statistics estimates that the seasonally adjusted construction production index decreased by 1.6% compared to June.

On average for the quarter May – July 2023, production in construction fell by 2.5% compared to the previous quarter.

On a trend basisboth the index corrected for calendar effects (the calendar working days were 21 as in July 2022) and the raw index recorded a decline of 1.1%.

In the average for the first seven months of 2023the calendar-adjusted index and the raw index both decrease by 2.3%.
