Calling on the international community to take action before the West Bank and the entire region turns into a war zone, Safadi said the first step to prevent the situation in the region from getting worse is to stop the attacks on Palestinian territories.

“IT DISRUPTS NEGOTIATIONS”

Regarding the indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel, the Jordanian Foreign Minister said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu disrupted the negotiations by changing his stance and putting forward new conditions.

German Foreign Minister Baerbock also condemned the statements and actions of Israeli government ministers regarding the holy sites in Jerusalem, saying that these were escalating the existing tensions.

When asked why Germany had not stopped selling arms to Israel, Baerbock said: “We have a strict policy on arms exports and we are determined to do so. The weapons we export to Israel are not weapons of war.”

Speaking about the repercussions of the situation in Gaza and the West Bank on Lebanon and Iran, Baerbock emphasized that “the Middle and Near East are on the verge of a real disaster, and in this context, it is essential to establish lasting peace and a two-state solution in the region.”
