The attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1 spurred Iran into action. Hundreds of kamikaze UAVs and cruise missiles were launched at Israel from Iran, which launched an operation called “Real Promise” last night. The War Cabinet, which convened immediately after the attack, met once again today.
“MORE 300 MISSILES AND UAVS WERE USED IN THE ATTACK”
Israeli Army Spokesperson Daniel Hagari made evaluations about Iran’s attack on Israel at a press conference. Hagari claimed that more than 300 missiles and UAVs were used in the attack carried out by Iran and 99 percent of them were neutralized.
Stating that approximately 170 UAVs were used in the attack, Hagari argued that all of them were destroyed by air defense systems as well as aircraft belonging to Israel’s allies before they reached Israeli territory.
Hagari claimed that Iran launched more than 30 cruise missiles in the attack, and all of them were neutralized before they reached Israeli territory.
Stating that Iran used more than 120 ballistic missiles, Hagari noted that “a few” of them reached Israel and the rest were destroyed.
Spokesperson Hagari stated that the missiles, the number of which he did not specify, hit the air force base in Nevatim, in the south of Israel, and that “slight” damage occurred there, but they continued to operate.
The Israeli Army Spokesperson claimed that shots were fired at Israel from Iraq and Yemen, as well as from Iran, and that none of them reached Israeli territory.
WHAT WILL BE THE RESPONSE TO IRAN?
It was stated that today’s meeting will discuss the “response” to Iranian attacks.
The Israeli Security Cabinet decided that the response to Iranian attacks would be taken by the War Cabinet.
In addition to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the War Cabinet includes Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and main opposition leader Benny Gantz.
