Israel’s defense minister answered a member of parliament’s question about why electricity is supplied to the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced to Israel’s parliament on Wednesday that 60 percent of the fighters of the extremist organization Hamas have been “eliminated or wounded,” the news Al Jazeera and The Times of Israel. The percentage has been calculated since the extremist organization Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023.
According to The Times of Israel, Gallant also answered a member of parliament’s question at the hearing about why Israel supplies electricity to the Gaza Strip.
– We have returned half of the hostages and we have decided to return the rest. The Security Agency has decided to achieve the goals of the war. In order to do these things, it is appropriate that we maintain our support on the battlefield, Gallant replied.
In his response, Gallant referred to maintaining international support during the Gaza war.
Gallant praised the Israeli soldiers for doing the job with dedication, sacrifice and success. He did not give figures on the death toll.
In Gaza, the Ministry of Health under the extremist organization Hamas announced on Wednesday that at least 38,000 people have died in Gaza since October.
