Israeli warplanes bombed a 14-storey building containing residences and offices in the blockaded Gaza Strip. Abu Ubeyde, spokesman for Hamas’ armed wing Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, stated that they would give a “shattering response” to the attacks.
ELECTRICITY HAS GONE OFF
According to information received from local sources, Israeli army warplanes attacked the 14-storey “Palestine” apartment building, which includes some press offices and companies’ offices, on Es-Shuheda Street of Er-Rimal District in the center of Gaza.
It was reported that the incident also caused damage to surrounding buildings and a power outage occurred in the region. A statement came from Israel that a power outage is planned in Gaza, where military operations are continuing. “I signed the order instructing the Israeli electricity company to stop supplying electricity to Gaza,” Israeli Minister of Energy Israel Katz said in a statement.
Following Katz’s statement, the Gaza electricity authority announced that 80 percent of Gaza’s electricity supplies were shut down. Although there is a power plant in the Gaza Strip, electricity largely comes from Israel and the people of Gaza have been subject to power outages in the region for years.
A BUILDING OF 15 FLATS WAS ALSO BOMBED
On the other hand, in the written statement made by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Gaza, it was stated that a building of 15 flats in Gaza was also targeted by Israeli warplanes. While no information was given about how many floors the building had, it was noted that the occupants were evacuated before the attack. No information has yet been shared regarding casualties and injuries in the attacks.
