A Palestinian man was killed and at least 25 wounded when dozens of armed Israeli settlers stormed a village in the occupied West Bank on Friday night, according to Palestinian authorities.

The man who was killed was shot to death, his family said. It is unclear whether Israeli soldiers or settlers shot him.

The settlers are said to have been looking for a 14-year-old boy who disappeared earlier in the morning. They set fire to houses and cars and shot at villagers, according to the Israeli human rights group Yesh Din.

Israeli military later stated that they are still searching for the boy.

The violence in the West Bank, which has been under Israeli occupation since 1967, has intensified since the war in Gaza broke out with the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7 last year.

At least 462 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces or settlers in the West Bank since the war broke out, according to Palestinian authorities.
