According to a written statement from the government, Bennett held an evaluation meeting with the army’s command and senior security officials after the Israeli police raid on Masjid al-Aqsa in the morning and the events that followed.
“READY FOR ANY SCENARIO”
Stating that those who try to disrupt the public order and the holy days of the three religions should be “taken care of”, Bennett ordered “increasing security” to prevent stones from being thrown at Israeli buses around the Old City after the Israeli police raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Bennett made the following statements at the meeting:
“The security forces have been given full authority by politics to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens. While we are working to calm the situation, we are also working hard against the aggressors. The security forces are preparing for any scenario.”
There was a clash between the Palestinians and the Israeli police, who could not enter the Masjid al-Aqsa, around the Old City, and incidents broke out at some points. In the videos shared on social media, it was seen that a group threw stones at Israeli buses.
AFTER THE MORNING PRAYER, LOAD MOSQUE TO Aqsa
Israeli forces raided Masjid al-Aqsa again this morning after Friday, forcibly evacuated the Palestinians and closed the doors of Aqsa to the Palestinians.
Israeli police had beaten some Palestinians in their raid on Masjid al-Aqsa, and then fanatic Jewish settler groups raided Masjid al-Aqsa under the protection of the police.
The Jerusalem Islamic Foundations Administration announced that 545 Jewish settlers had entered Aqsa.
Fanatic Jews are increasing their raids on Masjid al-Aqsa, under the protection of the Israeli police, due to the week-long Passover, which started on Friday, April 15.
The Palestinians, who try to react to the raids in Masjid al-Aqsa with takbirs, are exposed to the intervention of the Israeli forces.
At the Church of the Resurrection and elsewhere in the Old City, Christians also hold Easter rites.
It is feared that the tension will escalate further in this period when violence is high in Israel and Palestine and the holy days of three religions intersect. (AA)
