The bill, submitted to the Council of Ministers by the Maldives Democratic Party (MDP), the main opposition party in the country, and preventing Israeli passport holders from entering the Maldives, was accepted by a majority vote in the Parliament.
THEY WERE CALLED
The relevant law change was forwarded to the Security Committee for review. The ruling and opposition MPs in the parliament called for the process of changing the law to be accelerated in line with the wishes of the government and the people.
ENTRY WILL BE BANNED
After the final vote, all Israeli passport holders, including those with dual citizenship, will be banned from entering the Maldives.
Following the demonstrations held in the Maldives to prevent Israeli citizens from entering the country, the Maldives President’s Office announced at the beginning of June that it had decided to change the law to prevent Israeli passport holders from entering the Maldives.
