According to Israeli state television, KAN, Israeli warplanes struck Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon. The report did not provide any details about the airstrikes, and the Israeli army has not yet made a statement on the matter.
Lebanon also made no statement about the attacks.
ALL FLIGHTS SUSPENDED
On the departure and arrival flight information screen at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport, it was seen that all flights starting from the evening of July 28 and continuing until now have been suspended.
According to flight information provided on the airport website, all flights to and from Beirut to various points around the world were marked “cancelled” or “postponed”.
It is stated that the flight cancellations and postponements in question will continue until the morning due to the possible threat of an attack by the Israeli army against Lebanon. The Lebanese state-owned Middle East Airlines (MEA) announced yesterday that it was postponing some flights from Beirut until the morning of July 29.
TENSION HAS RISEN IN THE REGION
Tensions have risen in the conflict between the Hezbollah Movement in Lebanon and the Israeli army following yesterday’s deadly attack on the Druze city of Mendel Shams in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
Although Hezbollah denied any involvement in the attack, Israel claimed that Hezbollah was behind the attack and threatened that the organization would pay a heavy price.
The suspension of some flights to Beirut International Airport by the MEA until tomorrow morning is thought to be related to the rising tensions with Majdal Shams. (AA)
