The Israeli Security Council tightens its travel advisory level from 2 to 3 ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, writes Israel National News. The previous level corresponds to “potential threat” to Israelis traveling to the event, and the new level corresponds to “moderate threat”.
The travel warning only applies during the time Eurovision is in progress, but the Security Council urges anyone who plans to travel to Malmö during the period to think about whether the trip is necessary.
The council also urges everyone who chooses to travel to download the council’s special app to stay updated.
The Eurovision Song Contest sub-competitions start on May 7, but the festivities start already this weekend.
