Israel has taken away diplomatic status from Norwegians working in the Palestinian territories. Norway considers the act “extreme”.
Israel has taken diplomatic measures against Norway.
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz says that Israel will take away diplomatic status from Norwegians working in the Palestinian territories, says Norwegian public radio NRK.
Those who attacked us will have to pay the price, Katz told an Israeli newspaper For The Jerusalem Post.
Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide calls Israel’s countermeasures an “extreme act.” According to him, taking diplomatic status makes it difficult to help Palestinians in the territories.
Earlier in the spring, like Ireland and Spain, Norway recognized the state of Palestine, which angered Israel. Finland has not recognized Palestine.
