Israel has struck the southern parts of Gaza on Tuesday. The shelling began after Palestinians were ordered to evacuate on Monday evening. According to the news agency AFP, at least eight people have been killed and more than 30 injured in the attacks on the city of Khan Younis.

The Israeli army said on Monday that 20 rockets had been fired at Israel from the Khan Yunis area. The attack was claimed by the terrorist organization Islamic Jihad.
