Israel is carrying out attacks on southern Beirut, the Israeli military said in a statement shortly before midnight.
“The IDF is currently conducting targeted attacks against weapons belonging to the terrorist organization Hezbollah that were stored under civilian buildings in the Dahieh area of Beirut,” the IDF said in the statement.
According to the IDF, residents of three residential buildings in the suburb have been warned and asked to evacuate immediately.

Israel’s military says it has carried out a “precision attack” against Hezbollah’s headquarters in Beirut.
Residents of southern Beirut are now being urged to evacuate, while Israel’s military announces plans to attack three buildings housing Shia militia weapons depots.
At least two people were reportedly killed and nearly 80 wounded in the Israeli strike that hit a densely populated area in southern Lebanon on Friday, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.
Media reports claim that Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was the target of the Israeli attack. However, a source close to Hezbollah states that the leader of the Shia militia is “okay”.
The Lebanese military has cordoned off the US embassy south of Beirut.
This is reported by security sources for Reuters.

The military is now said to be investigating whether Nasrallah was in the headquarters when it was hit.
