Israel says it intercepted a missile launched by Yemen | News in brief

The Israeli army says it has repelled a missile launched from Yemen after the missile had arrived in Israeli territory early Friday. The Israeli army informed about it in a statement published on the Telegram service.

According to the armed forces, shrapnel from the destroyed missile is said to have fallen in Modi’s area in the central parts of Israel. The rescue authorities say they are investigating possible damages.

The Israeli army repulsed a Yemeni missile strike last Tuesday.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels, backed by Iran, have been launching missiles and drones at Israel since the start of the Gaza war. According to the Houthis, the attacks are a show of support for the Palestinians.
