Israel’s military orders al-Shifa hospital in Gaza to evacuate Saturday morning, reports AFP. The news agency writes that the hospital has an hour.
The Israeli military is said to have contacted the hospital director and given him instructions to ensure the “evacuation of patients, wounded and medical staff”.
Al Jazeera has spoken to a doctor at the hospital who says it is impossible to evacuate all the people in just one hour. Lack of ambulances is one of the reasons, according to the doctor.
This week the Israeli forces searched the hospital. This after discovering a control center under the building. According to Israel, it is to be used by the terrorist organization Hamas.
Both Hamas and staff at al-Shifa hospital have denied that there is a command center under the hospital grounds.
