Israel must expect inevitable response from Hezbollah

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah called it “ inevitable ” the response to the death of the military leader of the party Fouad Chokor, killed Tuesday evening, July 30 in an Israeli raid, and of the political leader of Hamas Ismail Haniyeh, killed the next day in an explosion in Tehran. Meanwhile, in southern Lebanon, a mother and her three children of Syrian nationality were killed and five others injured in an Israeli raid on a locality targeted for the first time near the coastal city of Tyre.

The leader of Hezbollah left doubts hanging on Thursday, August 1, over the nature, timing and scale of the response to the assassination of Fouad Chokor in Beirut and Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. A response that he considered “ inevitable ” and which will be, according to him, ” real, well-studied and not just a form “.

Hassan Nasrallah said that the escalation initiated by Israel on a regional scale aims to push anti-Israeli movements to throw in their arms. “CThis will not happen in Gaza, Lebanon or Yemen. ” he hammered home.

The remarks come as Iran and its regional allies are considering ways to respond to Israeli strikes in recent days.

Hezbollah sources say that talks began in Tehran on Wednesday between representatives of the Iranian authorities and various groups close to Iran to coordinate a response.

Hezbollah is represented at these discussions by its number 2 Sheikh Naim Kassem and one of its deputies in the Lebanese Parliament, Hassan Fadlallah.

Hassan Nasrallah carefully avoided giving any indication of the nature of the response. He only noted that the Israelis were wondering whether the response would be simultaneous from Iran and its allies or staggered from each side.
