Israel: Eight hostages are dead

Eight of the hostages in Gaza that would be released by Hamas in the past month are dead, says Israel according to AFP.
“The families have been informed about the situation for their relatives,” said the Israeli government spokesperson,
David Mencer.

The parties signed an agreement for a ceasefire on January 19 and consists of three phases.

During the first phase of the ceasefire, which will last for six weeks, 33 hostages will be released. At the same time, a large number of prisoners in Israel should also be released. The plan is that the remaining hostages will then be released in phase two of the ceasefire, even it is scheduled to last for six weeks.

Hamas has previously given Israel a list of 25 of the hostages to be released in the first phase, reports Reuters. Israeli media has previously reported that it was feared that the eight people who were not named are dead.
