    Israel attacks Syria – several dead

    During the night, Israel attacked three border crossings between Lebanon and Syria near the city of Homs, reports the Reuters news agency.

    Four civilians and two soldiers were killed in the attack, the state-controlled Sana news agency said. A further twelve people have been injured and several ambulances and buildings have been destroyed.

    Lebanon’s Transport Minister Ali Hamieh told the news agency that it is currently unclear whether the crossings will be closed.

    The attacks came in the same vein that Joe Biden announced that a cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon would come into force at 03.00 Swedish time.
