According to the statement made by the Israeli government press office, the Defense Research Development Directorate of the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the private defense industry company Rafael successfully completed the tests in which fast targets were neutralized with high-power laser beams.
In the published images, there were moments when high-speed targets such as mortars, missiles and UAVs were neutralized with high laser beams.

In a statement regarding the tests, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz added that Israel’s laser defense system is “a world-first invention” and that they will “work to make the system ready for use” as soon as possible.
It was informed that Israel’s laser defense system will work integrated with the existing air defense system “Iron Dome”, and the laser defense system will reduce the operational costs. (AA)
