Israel and Lebanon: Hezbollah commander killed in attack

Israel’s attacks on Lebanon have killed over 560 people, including women and children. Almost half a million have fled their homes, according to Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib.
Now the minister expresses disappointment over Joe Biden’s statements about the conflict.

– It was not strong, it was not promising, and it will not solve the problem, Abdallah Bou Habib said during a virtual peace event in New York on Tuesday.

Joe Biden spoke briefly about the conflict at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday.

– Too many on both sides of the border between Israel and Lebanon are still displaced, he said at the time.

He also said:

– A full-scale war is not in anyone’s interest.

Hezbollah leader dead

Now Hezbollah also confirms that a high-ranking commander, Ibrahim Qubaisi, is dead after an attack on a six-story building in a suburb of Beirut. Something that the IDF stated earlier on Tuesday.

There are also new reports of attacks. Hezbollah said on Tuesday that it targeted a naval base located on Israel’s northern Mediterranean coast. At the naval base there is an Israeli elite force, writes CNN. Israel has not confirmed that the naval base would be attacked.

Israel’s military also states that it has intercepted a rocket sent from Lebanon on Wednesday morning near Tel Aviv, writes CNN. No injuries have been reported.
